UPSC CSE MAIN 2024: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services (Main) Examination 2024 concluded on September 29, 2024. The final day of the exam was conducted in two shifts— the morning shift from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and the afternoon shift from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. This examination began on September 20, 2024, and was open to candidates who successfully cleared the preliminary exam.

What’s Next?

Following the Civil Services (Main) Examination, candidates will be shortlisted based on their performance and the minimum qualifying marks. The UPSC will release a list of those who are eligible to appear for the next stage— the Interview/Personality Test.

During the Interview/Personality Test, a Board will review the candidates’ career records and pose questions on general topics of interest. This stage is not meant to evaluate either specialized or general knowledge, as that has already been tested in the written exam.

According to the official notification, candidates are expected to show interest not only in their academic subjects but also in current events at the national and international levels. They should be aware of modern developments and discoveries that engage the curiosity of an educated individual.
