TNPSC Group 4 Recruitment 2024: CCSE IV vacancies increased – Overall 8932 posts to be filled!

TNPSC Group 4 Recruitment 2024: The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) has increased the number of vacancies for the TNPSC Group 4 Services 2024. A total of 8932 positions will now be filled through the Combined Civil Services Examination – IV (Group IV Services). Candidates can view the official notice on TNPSC’s website at tnpsc.gov.in.

According to the notice, the number of vacancies has increased from 6244 to 8932. In September 2024, 480 additional vacancies were announced, followed by another 2208 in October. The updated vacancy list is as follows:

• VAO (Village Administrative Officer): 400 posts
• Junior Assistant (Non-Security): 3458 posts
• Junior Assistant (Security): 69 posts
• Bill Collector: 99 posts
• Typist: 2360 posts
• Steno-typist: 642 posts
• Junior Assistant (Other Departments): 32 posts
• Senior Factory Assistant: 25 posts
• Steno-Typist (Grade III): 3 posts
• Junior Inspector of Co-operative Societies: 17 posts
• Laboratory Assistant: 32 posts
• Forest Watcher (Tribal Youth): 216 posts
• Junior Assistant (Various Departments): 22 posts

The preliminary examination took place on July 9, 2024, across various exam centers in the state. The exam was held in a single session from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM and consisted of two sections. Part A, the Tamil Eligibility-cum-Scoring Test, contained 100 questions worth 150 marks. Part B, covering General Studies (75 questions) and an Aptitude and Mental Ability Test (25 questions), also carried 150 marks. Only candidates who score at least 40% (60 marks) in Part A will have their Part B evaluated.

The provisional answer key was made available on the commission’s website on June 18, 2024. The results for the preliminary examination are still pending. Candidates who qualify will be invited to sit for the main examination, with the date to be announced after the prelims results are released.
