The recruitment will be conducted in accordance with the Odisha Subordinate Staff Selection Commission (District Cadre) Rules, 2012, and the Odisha Subordinate Tribal Welfare Education (Recruitment & Conditions of Service) Rules, 1993, as amended.”
1. Educational Qualifications:
- Primary Teacher (Class I to V):
- Candidates must have passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) or Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.).
- OR Candidates with Graduation and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) are also eligible.
- Must have passed the Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET).
- Trained Graduate Teacher (Class VI to VIII):
- A Bachelor’s Degree in the concerned subject with at least 50% marks and a B.Ed. degree.
- Candidates must also have passed the Odisha Secondary School Teacher Eligibility Test (OSSTET).
- Post Graduate Teacher (PGT):
- A Master’s Degree in the relevant subject with a B.Ed. or equivalent qualification.
2. Age Limit:
- Minimum Age: 21 years.
- Maximum Age: 38 years (as of January 1, 2024).
- Age relaxations are applicable for reserved categories such as SC/ST/OBC as per government rules.
3. Other Requirements:
- Candidates must be citizens of India and residents of Odisha.
- Proficiency in the Odia language is required, including passing Odia as a subject in the 10th standard or any equivalent examination.
The salary details for the Odisha OSSSC Teacher Recruitment 2024 vary depending on the post and level. Here’s an overview of the expected salary structure for different categories of teachers:
1. Primary Teacher (Class I to V):
- Pay Scale: ₹25,300 – ₹35,400 per month (as per Odisha government pay matrix)

- Pay Scale: ₹35,400 – ₹49,900 per month
